The past 3 months in cph have been magical… so many things ive done nd seen, met loads of people from all over the world and in general, it has been an awesome summer… of course life is like a rollercoaster so there are ups and downs… last weekend after hell of a party i woke up just to find my “rel” landlord behind the door telling me that the place has to be empty today… apparently the guy i was subletting from, sublet it from him with without telling him about me and many others who had been through there…. at some point he said we might need to move on 1th of october since the sublet contract would expire but he’ll see if it can be extended, and due to some reasons, he failed to keep in touch with us after that (still not 100% sure why until i get back the deposit) but long story short, i was all of a sudden packing my things… luckily i found a place next day after an hour of search… in frederiksberg… a km from the old place in (apparently finding a place in cph is hard as hell but ive been kinda lucky so far). so the old and awesome party apartment is gone :( will miss that place… made some good memories in that place… and among other things renars moved to arhus to study so its a bit more quiet in here now… so ups and downs… but looking forward to seeing what the next few months will bring… til then, heres another dump of photos fom the past few weeks (and some much older stuff)
Had a little walk around town to familiarize myself with my (not so) new camera

So during a late night in a tiny bar in norrebro, my lovely new friend from brazil came up with an idea to go and see hamlet’s castle about 50km out from cph… so next morning we took a car and hit the road with sam, vita and zoe
So the beginning of the year has been really chaotic… in march my old employer went bankrupt so i was basically sitting home alone in my tiny 24sqm room for 2 months… remaking my website, sending out 100 apps, keeping my mind busy and cooking some rice balls :D… in the end i got 2 interviews so i gave renars a visit in copenhagen, had the first grill of the summer and 2 intervies that went pretty well… i ended up being offered positions in both of the companies… both for front-end developer positions… one was a solid long-term position, the other a fixed 6 month deal… i went with the 6 month thing since its a job in the gaming industry in a square enix owned studio… something ive always wanted but did not see happening in the foreseeable future… so of course i went for it.
So i packed my bags, cleared and cleaned my old apartment in filskov (still ended up paying dkk7000 for cleaning and painting) and drove off to the other end of denmark… with no place to stay… so hostel for a few nights and then i managed to find a room in a shared flat though couch surfing forum just 3km from the centre in norrebro… so basicaly, i got the offer, i moved to cph, stated work and found an apartment all within 1 week or so... graaazy pace after having sat home for 2months. I have now been here for almost 2 months and enjoying every minute of it. Cph is a fun and beautiful place to live in, the work is great and rewarding, the apartment is neat, cheap and well located and overall im pretty happy :)
Been feeling a bit blue for the past couple of months. Really considering a move to England :/ fresh start and all that jazz…
So this is how i ended up spending my christmas vacation :/
I had bought my car when i was pretty low on cash so it ended up being fairly rusty… so i took a drive home to Estonia for christmas to fix it up… never thought it would take as much time as it did :/
I took a trip to Estonia for Christmas… figured i should take my car to fix it up a bit… baaad idea. I spend the whole vacation on it! Also, when driving through Poland, take the road passing Warsaw! the highway is finished so even with the road tax, it is totally worth it (driving back to DK on it was sooo much easier then taking the other road when driving towards estonia!) so grazy road-trip, repairs, new year’s in riga, another road trip and an unexpected week off afterwards should sum it all up :)
And goodbye to the best year in my life so far! just have to hope theres some more like that in stock for me! :)
Since legoland and lallandia are around the corner, i went and took a small walk and a few “tourist shots”… way too cold to do anything more… unless youre a kid :) apparently its free to get in to legoland for an hour after the rides are closed… And lallandia is a big water park with artificial village, shopping street, mini golf and an arcade from what i understand… water park is with a ticked, the rest you can just walk into.
last Few months and next one til november (photos got mixed with the blog restoration). So basically… friends, sun and Denmark ^^ (and my birthday and an awesome red hot chili peppers concert is also mixed in there;)
So we got this little fun thing at work some time ago… sigma 12-24mm the widest wide-angle available (not a fisheye) loving it :)
So along with a car come bunch of overlooked issues… replaced the sealing for the oil pan due to a leak (hell of a messy job)
tried fixing the muffler with some paste but somehow it broke completely, luckily thansen.dk had a nice cheap replacement. Also had to drill out the ignition coil since it stopped turning. got a replacement, switched it and extracted the immobilizer chip from the old key to duck tape it to the sensor. Also got a pair of new speakers for some of those longer trips.
Well, when it comes to denmark then having a car is a a costly business… new ones have 200% tax on top of the original price and old ones are moving rust buckets. in most cases bike and a bus are a better choise… unless you live in a place like grindsted where public transport is kind of a joke (hence my new purchase) so heres a quick intro to save some time if you stumbled upon this page looking for some short, simple information.
So i picked up a softbox from amazon… hell of a lot of fun as long as you have a powerful light/flash (as i discovered, the canon 430 exII works with my nikon d90 in manual mode!) set it up on a tripod next to the softbox, used a ttl cable to connect it to my good ol D90 and had some fun… heres a few test shots…
